When we first developed our magneto replacement unit it was tested on Triumph and Norton engines. Unfortunately we did not have access to an A10 engine and when we launched the product we soon realised that our standard unit would not fit on an A10 or A7 due to the limited clearance between the magneto and the crank case. We removed all reference to BSAs from our advertising and posted warnings at the foot of the ads too. We modified a standard unit and tested it on an A10. Once we knew the modified unit would function OK on a BSA we set about redesigning the unit to give a very small body diameter. Michael Hutchings is the secretary of the Hampshire branch of the BSA Owners Club and when he enquired about a magneto replacement unit we offered him a prototype unit and he kindly agreed to be our Guinea Pig. Were pleased to say that the trials were successful and we are now offering units to the new design for general sale. Detailed pictures of the unit fitted to Michaels bike are shown below.
